The Centralised Internet Server (CIS) which is online and at your disposal 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year is directly accessible by any registered Smart-X user. This central server (CIS) opens many wonderful possibilities to you as a Smart-X user. Furthermore it could save you significantly in office operating costs (e.g.) The Smart-X packages can now provide users with integrated interconnectivity between Smart-X packages, and any other service provider(s) worldwide.

 

Definition: A "Service Provider" is any institution, organization or body where information connectivity is required to achieve an objective.

 

The installation of this Central Internet Server (CIS) signifies that it will be possible for any office to access any service provider without purchasing and/or installing any additional software at your office.

• Because we can negotiate collectively with service providers we can negotiate at reduced costs per transaction than would be possible for each individual office.

• Adaptations and changes to service providers software ex. upgrades, will all be taken care of centrally and timorously without causing any disruptions to your office operations.

• Wherever possible/feasible full system integration will be implemented between your SmartFin package and the service provider packages. This will imply that all Data Base updates will automatically be executed without any operator intervention hereby eliminating typing errors and reducing the possibility of fraud.

• The communication backbone used to provide (Smart-X/CIS) connectivity has been developed in house. Full firewall protection has been introduced and High speed and reliable communication is achieved with this backbone as we make use of direct IP to IP connectivity.

• Regarding payment recovery systems we are in a position to simultaneously support multiple payment recovery systems without you having the need to install the payment systems onto your office machine. i.e. Reduction of costs and complexity at your offices.

• WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO GET CONNECTED TO THE CENTRALISED INTERNET SERVER?

To get connected to the Centralised Internet Server (CIS) you need to register as a SmartFin/CIS user, have an e-mail address and be connected to an Internet service provider.

 

• HOW DO I REGISTER  WITH THE CENTRALISED INTERNET SERVER?

Registration as a SmartFin/CIS user is FREE; all you need to do is to complete the registration document(s). If you wish to register with CIS you must first complete a CIS registration document(s) and forward it to Personalised Systems & Services so that you may be registered as a CIS user.

 

• HOW WILL REGISTRATION WITH CIS BENEFIT ME?

Firstly: Registration with CIS will automatically allow you direct accessibility to all service provider's products/services/facilities offered by CIS.  Furthermore when connected to CIS the  package will automatically forward the necessary information to the appropriate service provider by Smart-X at the appropriate time, and will also automatically update your Smart-X Data Bases with the necessary information obtained from the service provider (i.e. No Manual Intervention). Full uploading/downloading reporting which acts as proof of transmission to and from service providers is provided. 

 

Secondly: When connected to  CIS you will not need to install any other additional software packages at your office to make full use of any services provided via CIS, this implies a significant cost saving on installation, training and maintenance costs. Furthermore upgrades to service provider packages will be done centrally at CIS at no additional costs and inconvenience to SmartFin users. 

 

Thirdly: The difficulty to control cumbersome and complicated exporting and importing procedures will be eliminated, the Smart-X system will  automatically take care of all transmitted information from and to any service provider thus reducing duplications and possible errors. 

 

Fourthly: Even if you do not make use of any service providers your registration with CIS will allow you to automatically have your Smart-X package renewed by the CIS. Seamless Smart-X package upgrades will also be possible in that CIS will inform you that an upgrade is available and by one keystroke upgrade your system. Furthermore the information broadcasting facility incorporated within CIS will ensure that you are continuously kept up to date on any urgent developments, problems and news.

 

• HOW ARE CIS TRANSACTION COSTS DETERMINED?

The costs of any service is calculated subject to transaction volumes (i.e.) the greater the transaction volume the cheaper the cost will be TO YOU per transaction. PS&S will always attempt where possible to negotiate with all service providers to deliver services at transaction costs based on the collective transaction volumes of all registered SmartFin/CIS users. This implies that the CIS/SmartFin user when connected to our Central Internet Server (CIS) will be able to obtain services at reduced transaction rates, more so than would be possible to obtain if individually connected.
