Introduction

 

A DLL for use by any software developer for the incorporation of Bank, Branch,and Accounts information into their software. This DLL provides the facility for the developer to do bank information validation on all banks in the RSA and NAMIBIA.

CDVDLL (South African Bank Branch Code and Account Number Validation Functions) 

 

It provides you with an easy way of incorporating South African bank branch code and account number validation into your software application.

 

It comes in the form of a 32 bit Windows DLL that can easily be linked into your software. The following 4 functions are included in the DLL:

• Bank branch code, account number and account type validation function (returns either VALID, IN-VALID BRANCH, INVALID ACCOUNT NUMBER, or INVALID ACCOUNT TYPE) Bank branch code lookup function provides you with the bank's address and telephone number details.

• South African ID number validation

• Determine gender from ID number (Male or Female)

This DLL has successfully been used in both Delphi and Visual Basic applications but can be called from any compiler that supports 32 bit DLL function calls.

 

 

The DLL is available and includes the following:

• The "CDVDLL.DLL" file containing the functionality described above

• Documentation detailing the function parameters and data structures

• A Delphi sample application (with full source code) that shows how to call the functions

• The latest "TSM900" file containing the complete list of South African bank branches and check digit validation rules

• New TSM900 files will be made available to registered users of the CDVDLL periodically

• Every TSM900 or CDVDLL upgrade will carry a charge.

• Any reproducible bugs found will be corrected at no charge
